Yahoo!!! I'm Back!

I'm BACK!!!!!!! It's been a wonderful winter. Yes I am one that loves the snow. Anytime there was a chance I was out there in it with all. Let's see the 4-wheeler has been stuck more than once. The sleds could be out a couple times this winter.....soooooo yes all in all I'm a happy camper! Now it is time for spring but I think someone forgot to tell mother nature our plan. Or she likes to tease just a little, imagine there are others out there that like to do that? Nah!
Since the spring is suppose to of sprung I'm back to start updating all with the racing season starting. Believe it or not I was suppose to be off to Salem this weekend.....BUT my plans soon where changed. Economy Auto Sales Racing was heading down to Salem and I took the whole weekend off to join. I was really looking forward to a weekend of getting away. Not to mention that there was some motors involved. The next weekend they are to race is this coming weekend at Toledo. I would have to say the weather will have to change drastically if this is to happen. Along with them I heard rumors that Tommy may pull his out. Let's see Tommy and Tony both have new cars, yes I'm jealous but excited for both! So it would be fun with two teams heading out. But I wouldn't count my chickens before they hatch!
With us racing just a few weekends this year it looks like I'm going to be a hobo this summer. Maybe a better name would be a weekend warrior. With the Four different teams I go with, they may all head different ways and who knows which way I will head. I'm looking forward to taking off some weekends and traveling to the different tracks they will be running when I can. I know in the summer there is quite a few of you that read this to keep up on all. I promise I will fill you in on all the good with the bad on all.
Hope all had a great Easter Holiday!!!!!

I'm Taking A Small Time Out

I will be back, I promise or would that be a threat. I have some issues I am dealing with here at home and need to focus on them. I will be back, I enjoy and miss the blogging. I've not even had much time to enjoy all of your blogs either.

But when I'm back I'll try to get back into the "Jacki Lingo" and bring some of my personality back out in my articles. I'm looking forward to bragging about the three yahoos also.

But until then may all of you have a great and safe Thanksgiving!!!!

Machester College - Great Trick or Treat Night

Tomorrow is Halloween and I usuarly am one that does not look forward to it. But this year I'm making the best of it and tonight we went into Manchester College and the dorms are all decorated up and the kids are giving candy out. There was one dorm that one hands down. The first floor my little lion decided it was ok. The 2nd floor, well he wasn't too sure about it now. The 3rd floor, lets say I taught him how to roar to scare away the scary things. And we went down the hallway roaring as we went. I can't remember the last time I laughed so much.

It was a beautiful night, we walked from hall to hall and seen about half of Manchester out trick or treating at the dorms. So it was a nice relaxing time. I can say that next year it will be a must to again.

Now tomorrow night is the official night of going from house to house and getting their treats. Living in the country you only go to neighbors, family and friends....no neighborhoods around here that are door to door. But before it's over they come home with treasures. One house usuarly has a bag made up for each with a pop, microwave popcorn, a candy bar and some other treat. Then there is grandma's who always has nothing to make but when you get there she comes up with some of the niftiest ideas. We won't hit a lot of houses but they will make out like bandits.

The oldest is going to be a New Orleans partier, with the beads, hat and of course some kind of can or cup. The middle child is a magician, just ask him, he'll pull a bear out of his hat. And the little guy will be a lion with a cast and all.
So yes, we are having fun and they are making me young again. Now tonight though I was asked more than once by adults to take my mask off.......Let's say I hope they were being funny! LOL!

It's Been A Long Year - But It's Good

Today is a day that I could picture myself setting on the bank of this lake, just setting there not saying anything to anyone and just letting my mind mellow. I know it's hard to believe me not saying anything but I do have those days. I think I could go off to my own little world and be just fine today.

A year ago today was when my divorce was final, well let's just say the judge signed off on it on a year ago today. I'm still dealing with issues that probably will not go away for a long while. They are just part of life now and I have dealt with it. You know some may be sad but I'm not........I was ok with our divorce, we had both filed a day apart without even talking about it. I guess you could say it was mutual. You wouldn't think it was by all the long delayed court proceedings. But when it comes to money, people seem to get real ugly no matter what. I have decided as long as I can pay my bills and the kids are happy so am I. That part of my life I have put the book on the shelf and it is setting there collecting dust. I have moved on and the new one is bright and eye catching. No I'm not sad just have been doing a lot of thinking.

I love the outdoors and fall is such a beautiful season.....To me it's when the earth is getting all dressed up and going to then have a beautiful time. When it's over then we go to sleep and cover up with it's blanket then get ready to wake in the spring to celebrate and come to life again. I have become a positive person lately and try to look at all in the positive side. I have someone that is also helping me enjoy life and I enjoy being with him also. So yes you can say I am content.

Tomorrow I go to Fort Wayne, I am going to look up a couple old friends and maybe set and have a chat. Then on the way home I will get to see my friend that has made life more like it should be. The kids are all set, I have the clothes laid out, supper made for tomorrow in the fridge (meatballs) and laundry done. The pool, pond, and fountains are winterized. I have mowed my yard maybe for the last time so yes I can actuarially set back and enjoy this weekend.

I guess I have rattled on enough but there has been so much going on, I'm just enjoying it all. I seen my father and brother tonight, they are combining down the road from me. I took dad to his dump truck and went to the elevator then to gab with the neighbor and local farmers. You know I had someone tell me tonight that they are glad I am back to myself. So yes I am kinda setting on the edge of that lake in my own mind just enjoying it all and relaxing lately. I can't remember the last time I have set back and enjoyed the scenery.

Winchester Speedway - Al

Al had a pretty good day all in all. He was 2nd in qualifying, 2nd in the heat and guess where he ended up in the feature, you guessed it 2nd! But he had to do it again, he was taken out part way through the race and had to start on the tail again to prove he could do it. But when that happen, there was a little excitement in his voice over the radio but when it came down to it, his spotters where telling him, you have done it before and you can do it. Just pick em off one by one. And they where right, Al came back through the cars one by one. The last few laps he worked the lead car on the corners but he needed a couple more laps to get the job done.

Winchester Speedway Reports:

"In Friday’s racing action of the 35th Annual Ed Martin Auto Group Winchester 400 Weekend Steve Blair would get the win in the Culy Construction 40 for the CRA Sportsman. Blair led the entire event holding off Al Cook Jr. to get the win. Cook Jr. came from the tail to get second after a lap 13 wreck with Terry Fisher Jr. Zach Hulvey finished in third. Keith Sterkowitz finished fourth and was crowned the 2006 CRA Sportsman Champion. Steve Minich Jr. rounded out the top five. Sterkowitz and Steve Stacy won the 8 lap heat races. "

CRA Super Series Reports:

"Steve Blair started on the outside of the font row and made the best of it by leading every lap of the Culy Construction 40. Al Cook, Jr. was running up front when Terry Fisher, Jr. broke causing a spin that took out Cook. Restarting on the tail Cook was fourth within six laps, took second on the 30th lap but was not able to pass Blair despite pulling beside him in every corner for the last several laps.

"I had the right starting position." Blair stated with a smile. My little 305 did not have as much as those other guys big motor, but I could get through the turns pretty quick and stayed ahead. If there had been a few more laps Al would have been here and we would have been there.""

So ending the 2006 season, Al Cook I would say has conquered Winchester Speedway, it will be exciting to see what he can do with it next year...... Features: 1st, 2nd, 2nd Heats: 1st, 1st, 2nd Qualifing: 1st, 1st, 2nd **Note track record set also.

Winchester - Excitement!

Tony raced for the first time at Winchester and he said over and over again that he had respect for that track.
This is a 1/2 mile high banked track that the turns suck you in and the fastest way around it is against the walls. Matter in fact it was said it hurts less if you hit the wall at 6" compared to 6'.

It was a pretty good weekend for the first weekend for Tony, he qualified in the 16's like he wanted and finished the different races. He was able to lock himself into the feature by qualifications, they lock the top 16 in and then you have to race into the feature for places after that.

So all in all it was a nice weekend of Mod racing.....next weekend he is going to Nashville, TN to race.
He should come home with some more experiences to talk about.

Winchester Video Clip

See below video clip of this weekend. The third section of racing you will note a 2nd place car being spun out by the third place car......yes that's how are weekend was again! But Al started on the tail again and was up to 2nd by the end again. During the interview on the track after the race, the leader did state he couldn't of held off Al much longer. So all in all I think he has proven he has this track mastered......the car loves this track. She's a happy camper here. If the car gets sold there will be another but if not then watch for her to come back as strong as this year again!

Monday - Kids

Boys, I don't need to say much more.......it pretty well says it all in one word. The two on the left are not mine but I imagine they may of done this, no I know they have done this before. There probably hasn't been much they haven't tried. But they are learning good or bad life is an experiment for all three!

Brice, well he has a temporary cast on and it's his favorite color green. The ortho surgeon set it today and the cast had to be cut because his arm is swelled along with his hand. Let's say that he was a big boy when it came to the shots and all. We go back in a week and a half and they will ex-ray it again. May need to put a new cast on it and hopefully it is healing. But he didn't sleep much last night and hopefully with the medicine they have given him and him being tired it will be a peaceful night for him. Speaking of meds, I live in the boondocks and went to town to fill the prescription, now remember I work with computers all day long and deal with the unhappy clients on the other end of the phone. When I went to CVS their computers are down and not sure when they will come up. They will call me at home when this happens. I had to set there and keep reminding myself that I have told clients this before and when they are unhappy I still need to keep a smile in my voice. So, ok Jacki, remember it's not their fault and keep a smile on your face!!!!! I made it home and a half an hour later I was heading back to Manchester for the meds. I still have a smile on my face......yeah right, until I watch the gas gauge in my truck keep moving south! But I'm back home and the little guy has his medicine before the shots wear off.

Speaking of boys, today the oldest educated the teacher, I don't know if this was a good lesson or not. But in class it was brought up what's another word that has the "E" before the "I". Well needless to say my son has been reading my blog. And he is called upon, remember......"Budweiser"....he said the class roared and the teacher did not believe him. So he proceeded to go to her desk and pull my blog up.....great! Chase can spell Budweiser for later on in life.....hmmmm, I'm not sure that is something he will use later on in life.

Brice, has also learned a lesson, he has realized that flying is not something he can do at this age. He has a sense of humor and is telling people that he can't fly. So when he came off the fence and landed on his noggin and on his arm he then realized that he needed to climb down now and not jump. So hopefully he has grasped this lesson. Boys are not made to fly. His first worry was "I can't get into the hot tub" but I informed him that he could but had to be mello. Maybe this is a good thing after all, nah, but I will enjoy the "no splash" time I will have!

I'm Know I'm A Wimp When It Comes To My Kids

What a day......it sure wasn't what I expected it to be after this morning. My three guys are with their dad this weekend. They have been down to the farm and helped in the fields. I have real boys and to tell you the truth if someone called and said that Tan was hurt. That phone call wouldn't surprise me in the least. He's my "Dennis the menace" But today I received a phone call and Brice the little one was climbing a fence and then decided he could jump from the top. There was a ditch on the other side and let's just say it didn't end well.

I met the boys and their dad at the hospital and sure enough, he has a broken arm. That is something that I cannot handle and that is seeing my kids hurt. So my heart was broken on this one. But mom kept it together in the hospital but the ride home was real long and I didn't even have the radio on. Let's say that I drove slow and cried a lot.

He goes to see an orthopedic surgeon tomorrow and keep your fingers crossed.... :0(
I did take "Cuddles the cuddly bear" to make the day better at the hospital.

This mom can be strong but when it comes to my kids I'm the biggest wimp of them all!

Wonderful Stay

What a wonderful weekend it has been.......I'm up this morning early and not working!
That is a out of norm for me, thank you Brenda for covering for me this weekend by the way.
I'm setting here enjoying the morning sun coming up with the fireplace on to take the morning chill out of the house. That's not like me at all, I'm either sleeping or working. But after this weekend I have had a wonderful enjoyable weekend and gonna finish it out that way. I got up this morning and open all the shears and the front door and the sun is shining in. I've set down and had my Spiced Chai and also had wonderful company to discuss the day ahead. We went to Winchester this weekend for racing and see above pics of the Bed and Breakfast we stayed at. I would give it a 10 point rating out of 10.......http://www.winchester-inn.com/ . It was only a few miles from the track and such a cold weekend it was a wonderful finish for a cold day and night.

Deb was a wonderful cook and the muffins where great along with all the other food she provided. It was really nice because the guest had one part of the house, the main part with the pool and hot tub and the host family had another section of the house. So it was a come and go as you please with everything there at your fingertips. It was the cleanest place I have ever stayed in and they didn't forget anything to make your stay enjoyable and relaxing.

The trees where just starting to turn down there and the sky was a dark, dark blue toward late afternoon. The wind would die down a little in the evening but it was damp. So I drank myself silly of hot chocolate, chai and teas. But managed to stay pretty warm. See my racing post on the exciting racing weekend.

Monster Truck Madness

They had a ball!!! The monster truck show was a success and there was three happy boys.
They seen the trucks do donuts, jump cars and wheelie themselves down the track. There was also a dinasour but the little one had it figured out being a country kid. "Oh, mom it's just a backhoe/excavator. But it's pretty cool, I think I can make one to look like that!" It's hard telling what the imagination will end up doing before the years over. We departed with hats and t-shirts before it was over and to say the least it was a pretty good night.

The night before we had bonfire at my parents new pond with the family there with campers.
So with the bonfire on Friday and the Monster Trucks on Saturday the weekend was a real good one. Everett and I then went motorcycle riding on Sunday and ended up at Mad Anthony's at Warsaw. So all and all the weekend was great.

I will tell more on the weekend to come. Leaving for Indy on Friday morn to look at a truck then off to Winchester for a full weekend of racing. Staying in a bed and breakfast inn so I'll have to give you the low down on this stay. Hope everyone has an enjoyable weekend and stay warm! I'm taking the coffee pot to put in the semi toter to keep us all warm with whatever.

First Kiss

  • First Kiss

So, it's your first kiss and several questions might come to mind:

Is it the right time?
Is anyone watching?
Does your partner even want to?
Is your breath fresh?
And... Should you use some tongue?

Then you lean in and go for it!!!!!!!

What better place to practice kissing?

Thought

My son sent me the below writing. It's funny that he knows me so well, we have become really close this summer. I also picked a pic that if you know me......is what my flower garden would have in it.

When you're feeling alone like no one cares, read this below.......From Chase :)

Someone thinks about you before you go to sleep.

At Least fifteen people in this world love you.

The only reason someone would ever hate you is because they want to be just like you.

There are at least two people in this world that would die for you.

You mean the world to someone.

Someone that you don't even know exists, loves you.

When you make the biggest mistake ever, and then something good will come from it.

When you think the world has turned its back on you, take a look.

Always remember the compliments you've received.

Always forget the rude remarks.

Nothing Runs Like A Deere

Speaking of fall and how much I like it. Another favorite thing for me is the farmers in the fields harvesting their crops with those mean green machines. (Yes I have a favorite in this area and it is the green ones!) My dad and brother farm approximately 1000 acreas and it is time to hit it. I enjoy going and riding the semi now and then with them to the grain elevator. It’s another time that socializing is a must, of course they all have their stories to tell while waiting in line to empty. It’s hard to believe it’s time to harvest already. It seems like drilling and planting time was just around the corner. So when you are out on the country roads please keep a heads up and watch for those farm trucks and equipment. Along with the crops coming out of the field you will probably note that the deer are moving also. Their homes are being taken away with the crops coming out of the fields. But also it is deer hunting time and they are also trying to hide.

So the next time you come upon a slow moving combine going down the road just remember they are going as fast as they can. And they are a little bigger then you so they need to watch that they don’t just hit something but run over something. I know when riding in my brothers it’s like you are setting on top of the world. But I will tell you that he is not without luxury……let’s see the radio with the stereo speakers, the air conditioner/heater, FM radio to talk to who ever is needed and then there is the seat that he has. It might as well be his recliner, the buddy seat beside him is not as comfortable guarantee it. Now if you come upon one that looks like it has a flying saucer on the top and then there’s an American Flag on it on top of the cab, it just may be one of my family. They Farm three different counties so there is a lot of road travel for them.

I’ll keep you in on the know when it comes to stories, I guarantee there will be some.

Fall Is Here

Life has been wonderful on this side, sorry for not updating lately. I figured when the racing slowed down I would have more time, wrong! Between the homework for all three and the school projects and sports. We have been very busy daily. The racing has stopped, but this time of year is the time for large shows. Next weekend is the Winchester weekend and it will be one fun weekend. I will blog more on it next week. Looking into staying at a Bed and Breakfast for the weekend….I’ll let ya know.

I mentioned life has been wonderful! I have a super, duper, wonderful person that I have been seeing. I couldn’t ask for anyone to treat me any better then he does. You know I can’t explain how much we have in common and it’s like we have known each other for ever. Well we kinda have since I knew him 14 years ago as I stated in a post below. I’m glad our paths crossed that one Saturday night. It is like someone was looking down on me! He has accepted me for me and also I am a package deal and he is wonderful with the boys. Matter in fact we are going to the Monster Truck Jam at Fort Wayne this weekend. So if anyone is there on Saturday night we will be there. Watch for 3 light headed boys wearing Harley coats with a big smile on their faces.

The weather was wonderful on Sunday hope all was able to get out and enjoy. We rode for approximately three hours on Sunday and took off for no where. But it was pretty, the trees are starting to turn. My ex used to say that fall was depressing because everything is dying. My thoughts have always been that fall is beautiful. Between the trees turning to a beautiful color. I love the fall colors with pumpkins and mums along with the bon fires that happen in the fall. The ride was really nice, the sun was warm and the company was great. :0)

Summers About Over, NAH!

It’s been a fast and furious summer along with life challenges this year. But I can say I survived and looking forward to next year, maybe it will be slow and boring, Yeah Right! Racing is winding down but the big shows are what is happening now at the end of the summer. There is a race every weekend yet to go to and our big racing family keep themselves on the road yet traveling from track to track during this time of year. When someone races out of the group the rest follow along. The Dager racing team is also another that we travel with in the fall.

Last week Tony “spanked” the rest of the field at Toledo Speedway. He won this by a half a lap so hopefully he has a great weekend a Shady Bowl this weekend.

In a couple of weeks we are all back to Winchester Speedway for a three day show. It should be a great show as long as the weather holds out. Al will be back to defend the track record and try to with the heat race again, 3 for 3. Also the feature he would love to grab it again, 1 for 2 right now. The mods are racing down there also so this should be a full weekend of speed and excitement for all.

I’m back to work at my 2nd job fast and furious, matter in fact if anyone gets to North Manchester this weekend, I am working all three days. I have seen a blogger down there once before, caught me off guard but was nice to say hi. First going to eat at the Main View on Saturday with some friends for lunch. This should be fun to catch up on all; it will be a girl luncheon. We’ll try not to slam you gentlemen to much; just kidding we love ya all!

Other then that the weekend will be filled with trying to winterize my pool, bringing in the décor in my flower beds and also the fountains need winterized also. Maybe Sunday will get warm enough to take a bike ride and enjoy the world. I hope, I love the feeling of feeling free.

Friday - Work

It’s Friday and I’m known to be a little wound up when it comes to Friday or the weekend. Anyone that knows me knows this social butterfly flutters her wings a little extra at times like this. I have a very outgoing personality and today I have used it to the max. We have been busy as can be on the phone and each and every one of them I have enjoyed talking to, even with them having problems.

Ok now today was interesting at work. We had another pow wow and let’s say we rolled! J My friend here is full of trivial information and knowledge of nothing of importance had one for us today. It seems in Nashville a lady had a closet friend. http://www.cnn.com/2006/LAW/09/29/closet.murder/index.html . Let’s just imagine now, first of all you need to talk this person into staying there. We decided that she must be a housewife and probably is very tired every night. Her husband supposedly slept in another room, and this must have been true by all accounts of the story. I know, it’s hard to believe and you are saying yeah right!

Now in the closet was found…..now imagine…. Spanish-English translator along with a book of sexual positions. Now don’t those books have pictures, of course I am innocent and would never know! Hmmmm….did I say that? Then there are pics of him that he has….interesting him having these.

Let’s picture what she may look like, we’ve decided that she probably is a “has been” Dolly Pardon has been with a little extra baggage.

I will say I have a great group to work with and when it comes to working we do, but now and then there are times that we have a good time, sometimes on the expense of me. Let’s say today was drill Betty Boob day. And there isn’t anything anyone of them would not hesitate to ask me, and they did. I just know that I don’t get mad; I get even and let’s say what goes around comes around…… :0)

We can only get one radio channel in here at work so I was elected to call in the request, again. Well the gentlemen remembered me from another week that I’ve called. Let’s say it was a good time on the phone also, I’m not one lost for words if you want to dish it out. I guarantee he doesn’t know me because he stated I was perfect, and who is paying him off? Oh no, one of the other girls here was teasing me about the gentlemen flirting with me and suggested he had to be pretty old to flirt with me, I’m still thinking on that one! But note that Ginny come up for air, he graduated with her. So I guess he’s not too old then. I can say that I do enjoy my job….we live on the phone and I love it on Fridays because the clients are in Friday mood on the other side also.

With this, everyone have a great weekend and I will try to get on and blog again. I had my computers hard drive crash and am using my sons.

Deep Thought For The Day

Ok, I don’t usually do this and maybe I will get too deep but here goes. I work in an environment that is with 22 people and most of us work close enough that we know everything about each other and then some more. But we had a group talk and no one is afraid to give their opinion, guarantee it! This is a group that is 60% men and 40% women and we are one big happy family.

We stated some deep thoughts yesterday and shared and tore them apart. One was “wherever you go, there you are” and it was a good conversation. It makes a lot of sense, I’ll let you in on a little of it.

But have you ever noticed what you think follows you no matter where you go. If you are generally a happy person, “happy go lucky is what I would say my style is” then you can normally move from place to place, from person to person, with very little negative impact or negativity in general. But if you are a negative person or someone that likes to start picking on others or have negative things to say, you will notice this negativity also no matter where you travel or where you are. We have a couple here that has proven this so true and I am one of them. When I am out in the public, I am a social butterfly and love to make people smile. In order to do that you need to carry the attitude with you and I can usuarly change them.

We also discussed “Criticism” whether it’s towards you or you towards someone else. I will admit I am not one to criticize and last week I did on another blog and it has bothered me since then. You won’t find me putting others down too often and I am one that will not hurt anyone on purpose. I do not put my political views out for others to tear apart because I do have beliefs, now don’t get me wrong, I do take in all that others have to say and do think about them. But you won’t see me put mine out to have them ridiculed. So back to the Criticism, we decided that if you just agree with it, think about it and toss it around. Everyone is allowed to have their own point of view and that can come down to criticism and criticism is ok. So I explained to them what I did last week that was still on my conscious, I guess it was better to get it off my chest since I’m not one to hurt anyone on purpose. I have decided that I may have an opinion but from now on I will toe the line in this area. I don’t want to be known as the “bad” (Jacki) Betty Boob, I would rather be known as the “good” (Jacki) Betty Boob.

After discussing this and having our little pow wow, I feel better and have inner peace with what I have done, I know you think so what is bothering you? Let’s just say, I’m apologizing and also that this chick will not go out on the blog world ever again and hurt anyone intentionally again. The true me wouldn’t do that in real life and also I am known to be one that cares for others and helps others. So I’ve just locked up the bad one of me and thrown away the key.

Totally Understand

I know I just blogged about a wonderful, special person but this has nothing to do with him by no means. I was at work and one of my friends was out shopping during her lunch and came back with this little pic. She had seen it on a shirt and thought with the way things have gone in my life I would get a kick out of it, you know she was right!

So all you chicks out there in the blog world this one might be for you also!!!! I hope it puts a smile on your face also. :0)

My Life Is Going Great!

I have a new friend and life is good……I thought I would share the news!
He is a racer and also owns his own business that goes along with my families business.
We have so much in common that it’s kinda scary. I have known him or have interacted with him probably 14 – 16 years ago and he was happily married along with, I was also. But we both have changed our paths and they have now crossed.

He is the most caring, loving person in the world. He is great with my kids and understands my stand of a single parent. There is a special side of him that is giving and thoughtful. So time will tell but the future looks bright and cheery again. They say that good things come to those who wait and I think it’s my time!

I’m not going to tell all but I imagine little by little you will learn more in the future.
But when you pass a Harley you may find me riding on the back so keep your eyes open.

Whirlwind Weekend - Saturday

After getting a good night sleep, thank you Joe and Katie…….It is Saturday morning and it will be a big day! They opened the gates at 12:00 and all was lined up to enter for the big night of racing. We are ready, only put a few laps on the new tires till Dean felt them come into him. Once this was felt he brought the car in and we put it up so the tires would not get flat spotted. Qualifications there was more mods there then there has been any day this summer. Most of the time during qualifications we had the fastest time till the last two cars. The last two cars ended up beating our time and we ended up qualifying 3rd. So we were happy campers really to tell you the truth. Tommy also qualified in the top 5, I’m really not sure where

There was no heat races so it was now just down to a hurry, hurry wait part of the day.
Tommy’s race is 75 laps and they are running before us. His race ended up being a good one and I believe he finished 2nd. Our feature was 40 laps and it was a hold on to your seat one. There was yellows for wrecks and Dean was able to work his way forward but he was behind a car now that was leaking some fuel. They stopped him and checked him but could not find any wet spots under the car. But his overflow was hanging down and any time he accelerated the car, fuel came out of it. So when they checked him all was ok. With this the track had its slick spots for Dean and he had a hard time getting around Jason with this problem. We ended up 7th and the finish was a pretty good one since the cars in were the top cars around the Midwest. Most of the mods from Baerfield didn’t even try to make the show so we were happy with our finish. This show brings in cars from all over Indiana, Ohio and Michigan. I believe there was even a driver there from Florida. So this small crew and driver stood up well against the top notched teams around.

By the way, it was also a wonderful Saturday because a special person came to the track then also. But it was nice since he used to drive mods and was able to gab around himself when I would disappear. I’m known to just come up missing now and then. I do the time keeping and the stats or line-ups for all cars that we are racing with. I guess most trust me because as I was keeping times the official came to me to find out how many cars there was there. He also always asks who the top qualifier is so I make sure I have that down right. After the driver’s meeting I seem to have them hang out to get their times and I usually can have the feature line-up ready after the draw is done for the inversion. So my stat book is a pretty important tool for me and any driver within sight.

I will blog on my special person more later……he seems to fit in the picture pretty well and already knows most. This makes it so nice that we have a lot of the same friends.
It seems about all in the pits know him so maybe I found someone that can out gab me even, I bet you can’t imagine that!!!!

Whirlwind Weekend - Friday

Ok, earlier this week I told you that I would update you on my weekend…….well here goes. It was a whirlwind of a weekend in more than one way; hold on to your seat because a lot has happen since Friday!

Friday afternoon was practiced till dark and we also needed to get the hauler up there so that we had our parking place. Believe it or not, I may be a girl but it was my job to drive the dually and pull the hauler with the race car to the track. The parking place was important, this way our group can park together. There were 4 of us that parked together and this made it fun for all. Dean had been to the track earlier and picked out the tires that we purchased. There is a technique to this and I didn’t want the last race of the year on my shoulders. The last two times I have picked them out. So I was glad he went up and did this for me. When I got there the tires needed mounted so with me being about the only girl in the pits, it wasn’t hard to get help when needed. I guess it’s kinda nice being a girl in mostly a man’s world. So tires where swapped out on rims and then they are ready to have the air let out and the nitrogen put in them, this will be Dean’s job again. So now that I have my jobs done for the day I just enjoyed gabbing from pit stall to pit stall, imagine that out of me! It was fun because drivers were swapping cars; there was a mod driver driving a late model and a mini stock driver driving both the late model and the mod.

There is a hog roast in the evening and there was people there that we haven’t raced with much this year or seen. So needless to say it was a wonderful time visiting with all. Now it is extra special because I have come across a friend that we used to race with and was married during the years I was married. Well now he is divorced and we all know my story! So Everett also came to the party so we could spend some time together and I had warned him that I am a gabby hays when it comes to parties. So needless to say, I was gabbing and off dancing and had a great time. You know this special person can accept me as me and it makes things so much easier since I can be myself. I’ll talk more on this special person later……he has really made a difference in my life at this time. I can actually say that I can tell him all and he accepts me for me and the different things that have been going on in my life this year have made me strong and I have shared all with him.

Whirl Wind Of A Weekend....To Come :0)

I have had a whirl wind of a weekend in more than one way. I plan on telling all, well almost all tomorrow.
It was wonderful, fun and relaxing! Let's just say that life has never been so good and I believe the best is yet to come!

It was our last weekend of racing at Fort Wayne and there was a Hog Roast Friday night that was a blast.
There was a contest for a 4 ft trophy to the best Karaoke singer. There was lots of food and lots of flowing drink to quench any adults thirst.

Saturday was a beautiful day for racing and it was a good day. Let's say we blew the doors off when it came to qualifying.

Then there is something that has been happening in my life and it has made a pretty happy chick of me. I will go into detail more tomorrow but let's say that life is good and I think there was a reason all has happen to me in the past. Because there are others out there that are special and do care like I have never been cared for before! But that is all I am going to tell you right now, you will have to wait.

So stay tuned, for the book has been put on the shelf and I pulled another out to start, no use using the same book and starting a new chapter. I would rather start from scratch and make this a bright colored book with lots to have included in it!!!!!!

So see you tomorrow!

This Would Be One of My Boys!!!!!

A kindergarten pupil told his teacher he'd found a cat, but it was dead.

"How do you know that the cat was dead?" she asked him.

"Because I pissed in its ear and it didn't move, " answered the child innocently. "You did WHAT?!!" the teacher exclaimed in surprise.

"You know," explained the boy, "I leaned over and went 'Pssst!' and it didn't move!"

Final Race At Fort Wayne For 06

Today will probably be the last day I blog till next week.
This is a big weekend and I will be gone all weekend.

Friday night is practice and then there is a hog roast sponsored by “The Ohio Posse” and they do know how to have a party! Karaoke hosted by "Blackbeard" and a 4' trophy for the "Best Singer. This ends up being a great time. Last year I missed it waiting to do something with a friend that didn’t pan out but heard all the stories and they kept calling me from it so it was almost like I was there. But this year I’m not going to miss it and have already set-up a place to lay my head afterwards.

Saturday is the day that is business……Time trials at 5:00 and racing at 7:00.

See link: http://www.baerfieldspeedway.com/start_page.htm

So I have a full weekend planned, don’t forget about the Colt’s game on Sunday then.
What a better way to finish off the weekend!

I will try to take pics to post but some of them I will need to keep as evidence for later on.
You never know who or what will happen when it comes to the last race of the season.
One year I think there is some unnamed individuals that tried to put the port-a-pot on top of Denny’s large hauler and it didn’t quite make it. Let’s say it did not smell too good around his end of the pits. Then there was the golf carts that were out and about, and I believe people driving them that should have been riding instead. One was doing donuts and ended up dumping all on board. The photographer was there to capture that one. Then there are the different individuals that sing or try, some have to express themselves during their show. I won’t name a name that comes to my mind on this one. But I have lots of stories I could go on and on with. Like the motorcycle track – when all leave what goes on over there with it’s up and down hills. Remember there are carts and 4-wheelers around at this time.

Yes I am looking forward to this weekend no doubt and will literally drive them crazy here at work till Friday is over. I’m taking the truck and hauler up with the race car loaded by myself Friday night to get a parking place for it. It’s also practice night that we could run some laps on old tires to work on set-up of the car. With me taking the car up the brothers can park together. Tommy’s Super Pro Series is in town so it will be great to see them race for 75 laps on the ½ mile track.

Check in next week!

Gas Prices - Let's Talk!!!!!

I have friends from all over that are reading this so let’s talk gas prices.
Now I am not one to join in on the political side for a fight, just being curious on the prices!

Gas this morning on my way to work – we are talking the regular was $2.31
At the Silver Lake – Claypool gas stations. We are talking in the boon docks

What is happening in you neck of the woods with the prices????

Why We Love Children!

One summer evening during a violent thunderstorm a mother was tucking her son into bed. She was about to turn off the light when he asked with a tremor in his voice, "Mommy, will you sleep with me tonight?" The mother smiled and gave him a reassuring hug. "I can't dear", she said. "I have to sleep in Daddy's room" A long silence was broken at last by his shaky little voice: "The Big Sissy!"

Things Are Not Always What It Seems

Ok, I have a 2nd job and yes believe it or not I love it! I work at a gas station in North Manchester that I would say the whole town comes to one time or the other on the weekend. Now I know, you are saying why in the world do you have a 2nd job? Let’s say my divorce is final but we all know that it takes longer to iron out the money situation to come flowing my way. I still have my fingers crossed it will be soon!!!!

So anyone of you that go into a gas station, the first thing you should see is a smile and someone saying “hi” to you. Now the person behind the counter may not be as they seem. I love this job, and it pays the least but since I’m a people person I love it. Now the people behind that counter might surprise you. There is a day this summer that a laker came through and I could tell she was looking down her nose at me. Her husband came in then to pay for the gas while she hung out. Now I have friends that are lakers and at one time I did live on the lake. And I am no better then the next Tom, Dick or Harry. So I started up a conversation with him. Seems they were heading to Tippy Lake and I said, oh I have friends that live on Tippy. Oh, this really seemed to surprise them, this country bumpkin living in the boon docks acturally knows people like them? So he struck up more of a conversation with me. As we spoke he was a doctor from Indy and I proceeded to tell him that during the week I work at an Orthopedic company which he knew the name for sure. Now with this, you would never guess………yes she decided I was an ok person and told me on their way back when they stop she hopes I would be working.

Now the real me loves to work on people and turning a person that is down on life or has issues with people and bring them to the world of smiles and kindness. I can’t stand seeing someone with a frown or is down on life, I know how that can be and do not wish it on anyone. It is a challenge of mine to turn a frown up to a smile. Or make someone that is not happy come out of their unhappiness. I think I feed on this and this makes me happy with life just with an accomplishment of this.

Believe it or not at our station we have a Doctor, 2 Teacher’s and an IT person working the registers. We also have some fun college students that are attending Manchester College. Let’s say by the time us girls get done with them, they should know how to treat a lady and there is no secrets on what we expect of them. Last night was girl talk time and poor Sam came to work and was involved in this conversation. I work with a great bunch and it’s a shame that I get paid for having fun but it works out for me!

So next time you swing through North Manchester, please stop in and say hi, you should see a smile behind the counter!

What A Wonderful Race Night

What a wonderful weekend it has been. Sorry I have left you out on the outcome of it. Friday I started my 2nd job again at the gas station and love it, I’ll tell you more about it later on. Saturday was wonderful…….we went racing at Baer Field and qualified out of 17 cars 2nd and the fast heat we started on the tail and won it with no problem on old tires yet to boot. We had bought new tires qualified on them and then took them off, saving them for the feature.

It was Hall of Fame night and Dean, the driver’s dad is a Hall of Fame member and we were asked to pull our car along the front stretch and then when they presented Al Sr, Dean was to also be presented. I will say that our group is noted and treated very well at the track. I bet you can’t find anyone that goes to the race track that doesn’t know our car or the other brother’s cars. I will admit that we do have a popular car at the track. Not to mention we are sponsored by 97.3 WMEE And if I say so myself one of the better looking ones. I might be a little one sided, nah!!!!

After the intermission the mod feature was the first race up. We started mid pack and I will tell you that everyone seemed to be out for blood since this was the last point’s night and it was down to the feature that made or broke different ones. Now we are not in the points run, the last three years we have either placed 2nd or 3rd in points but with the driver and dad being in New Orleans we had Tommy replace Dean for part of the season and also tried a different track once.

The feature started and all excitement was about to begin. Note that Dean was held up for a little by a car or two in front of him. When things shook out he was able to start picking them off one by one. He finally was at the 4th spot and I believe one more lap he would of placed 3rd. At the flag stand he was just a smidge back, side by side they went across the finish line. We are very happy with the fourth place finish and the car is in one piece along with it ready for this weekend other then clean-up and the usual going through and tightening all the bolts each week.

It was also nice to run into a friend that only comes to the races once a year. The social butterfly stayed in one spot for a while this weekend to gab; I know it’s hard to believe! Hopefully it’s not another year before we see Everett back to the track. Let’s say there was a lot of slamming going on. Being I am finally divorced and he just went through one. We made it clear that when he spoke of women, “ex’s” that this did not include the rest of us in this category!

We only have one more race weekend at Baer Field and it will be this coming weekend. I am really looking forward to it. Friday there is practice and a Hog Roast along with Karaoke. Saturday then is racing. There will be others there from traveling series’ to anyone that their tracks have closed and are still looking for racing. I will blog on it and hopefully have pics also.

Life Is Great

You know I have been away for awhile. And no I’m not quitting, just have some important people to keep up with. I’ve been going around the office singing “Skippity Do-Da, Skippity Day, My Oh My What A Wonderful Day!” And yes they are making fun of me but we did find it on the net with Skippity and Zippity so if it’s on the net its ok, Right? The important people I need to keep up on are my kiddos. The boys are back with me, which I am in heaven again with all the rat race going on, but I love it! Let’s say what they don’t think of……..We have a ramp that they have in the shop and use their razor scooters to do tricks. There has been quite a few rescues happening with all this. I have a full box of band aids available and also ice ready. Now when they are out ramping they have the tunes on the surround turned up and are having a ball. I pop out now and then and try to sing with them on some of the songs I hear them singing out. Now note I said “try” and it doesn’t take long for them to dance me back into the house again. But anyone that knows me, knows I don’t give up easily, so you guessed it….I’m back to entertain again.

I have been able to keep my yard mowed and with this weather cooling down, I’ve been working in my many of many flower gardens. I love the flowers, about every night I can make a small arrangement up and enjoy it. I have all the windows in the house open and let the country air in. Yes, yesterday it so happened a farmer thought it was dry enough to spread some of that special formula on a field in the neighborhood. But that’s what I get for living in the country so you won’t hear this chick complain!

Life just even got better, Robin just came back from lunch with a Chi in hand, and it so happened to be my favorite…….the day is looking up! I bet when I leave here I will be wound to the kilt and who knows what will happen tonight, maybe the kids will lock me out of the house or maybe I’ll end up on a razor scooter tonight also, I do have my own and let’s see if I can ramp it!

I had a rough last month and a half after my wreck, but my truck is fixed and I am great.
So life is wonderful and this chick is enjoying her friends and family.

Matter in fact the other night the kids had a hay day with one of my friends and let’s say that they were instigating it more even. I ran them out of the house so that for some odd reason, I was getting the feeling that someone was going to get mooned, nah, I would think the glare would have blinded us anyway! And no one would have seen a thing, right?

So I’m gonna try to get back on here more and keep you up on my rat race of a life of a mom, along with me being their best friends and a little bit of a goof ball now and then. My life is far from norm so I will share it with all.

It feels great to be back!

Winchester Racing - Broke the track record!

Winchester Speedway September 3 -4th

This was a weekend of excitement, highs and lows.....no sleep and ups and downs. Just when you thought it was going to be mellow, something else would happen. I learned that when going to breakfast it's not the waitress fault, "It's not her fault" right Tommy? It seemed like every restaurant we hit it was never their fault, don't get me wrong I was a waitress at one time but these guys just some how new it wasn't their fault. Everyone also was able to start learning Jacki Lingo.....well let's say they noted it. We started every morning with the plan of leaving Fort Wayne at 6:00. Sunday was real hard since I drove from North Manchester after racing Saturday night and getting in late. I even stopped at the gas station here at Manchester and put my order in for a particular roll so he would have it bagged and ready for me when I went through in a few hours. I knew I could count on Kent, it even had my name on it with napkins inside. We took off with two truckloads of crew members and headed to Winchester. We get there and you have to pit in the center but unload everything out of the trailer and take the trailer back out to the parking lot. So after finally deciding where we were to park and realizing that we did get jipped since Al is in the top 10 and we did not get a pad. But finally decided we would unload the pit cart and the car and all needed things.

It ended up being a great day, beautiful out with sun and Al qualified and broke the track record so needless to say everyone was happy campers. Because Winchester is about as close to Nascar tracks as you get. Al never qualifies well and was tickled with himself. Then came the heat race, with qualifying the fastest he had to start on the tail of the fast heat. The heat was 10 laps and by halfway he was leading the group and walking away. So it was his race and no one could touch him. Let's say we all couldn't wait till tomorrow to show everyone what we are made of. So off to Fort Wayne we head back in the evening. I went and slept in Dager's apartment in the top of their race shop and what a sweet set-up. I think I fell asleep at 12:00 to be awaken by another team bringing their golf cart back to the race shop. So then it was 1:00 back to sleep. Now remember I have to be back over to meet everyone at 6:00 again.

I had a wonderful sleep at Dager's race shop and their beds are so comfy but my alarm went off at 5:00 and I thought oh, what is a few more minutes? Well the joke was on me, the softener cycled and guess who didn't have water. This day isn't starting out to well already. So I waited and anyone that knows me knows I'm not a patient person by no means. I finally did get my shower and was on my way. Of course I was the last one there and they were waiting on me. We left and went for breakfast and again it wasn't the waitress fault, right Tommy? Kelly is a witness to this. We made it there but this was a nice morning we had already paid so we could walk past everyone in line. They pulled the car up and went through it to make sure all was tight and everything looked great. Even note Jesse washing the back windshield in the car. She should of been a happy car with all those guys taking care of her.

Now it is Monday and this is a new day. When the race started he started on the 5th row outside. It wasn't long, this is a 40 lap race and by 18 laps in he had taken the lead. Now there was a lap car that blew it's motor in front of him and he couldn't avoid this wreck. So they brought him in and we taped up the back of the car, note pic above. And had to bend the front air duct, bumper so it did not hit the front tire. Then the rear tire rim was bent so Cliff in the next pits rolled out another tire so he could use it. No remember, no tire stagger set and he is taped all up with a track that has a lot of down force. He worked his way back through the field and was third by 13 laps to go and at 6 laps to go his rear axel broke. I think hitting the wall was to much on it. Before it was over with he ended up with a 12th place finish. Not to shabby with more less winning the race twice by coming up though the field twice.

But this isn't the end of our day. We loaded the pit cart up and put tires and all on top of the back of Al's car and was able to get out of the pits between races. They have to open a gate and let us drive over the track. When we got out to the truck and trailer there was no way to get it loaded. We waited and little by little people kept leaving and we could drive the car around to the back of the trailer and load all. Now it was tricky getting the truck and trailer out but Tommy was able to manage. On the way home after we stopped to eat, Tommy's truck decided that the fuel pump was going to start going out. So a 90 min trip turned into a 4 hour trip. We tried to have fun with it no matter what. When it quit he would get out with a rubber mallet and hit the tank. It would go a little farther, but once we where on the four lanes the rumble strip took the place of the mallet, this worked out great. Now I have to tell you that there was one time that an Amish buggy was on the left and a semi was on the right and here we set in the middle hoping all ended ok. I joked that another Amish buggy was about to pass us. Note that it never made it around us, Tommy made sure of that. As we traveled home we had a van come up behind us and turn it's big lights on, there was a light bar across the top. They were I think "Hoosier Helpers" and followed us for quite a ways. Let's say when we finally got home it was wonderful. I jumped in my truck and drove another 1 hour home and was glad to see my bed!

We will be going back in October and I believe Al will show them again. See the first race down there Al won the heat race and the feature so he needs to go back and show them what he has.

All we could say with the wreck is "that's racin"

Saturday Night Racing

Saturday night was a nice cool evening for racing. No rain, even though we kept watching the sky for a while. We had a night that was fun with the showing up of one of our sponsors. He brought his grandkids along with Andy his son. They had been at Auburn, note he still had the check that he took with him up there, I think that means he didn't get his dream car! Since they had been at Auburn they also had their golf cart and we used it for setting and traveling the pits.

Dean started the feature in the 4th row. He patiently worked his way towards the front. I think this is the last week for these tires so we need to not heat them to much. As he worked forward he picked each car off one by one. There was a few wrecks which thank goodness did not include us this week. By the end of the feature Dean was in the third place and in front of him was father and son of Joe and Pete Wormcastle.

We were happy with this finish and we went over the scales at the end of the race and all was great. So I would say we came home happy campers this weekend with it being a pretty smooth evening. Next weekend is our final points weekend, even though we are not in the points run with missing the beginning of the season with our full time driver. After next weekend then there is one more weekend of racing at Baerfield. Not sure where we are going from here. We'll have to wait to see what the next two weekends bring. We are talking of running a race in Ohio that is huge and is a large pot of winning money. Keep your fingers crossed on that, I am looking forward to that one if we go.

Thank goodness the night was over at a decent time because I still need to get home to pack and be back to Fort Wayne by 6:00. That's when the group is leaving for Winchester - not much sleep tonight. But when it comes to racing I don't need a lot anyway!

A New Book Is Opening!

It's been a very busy weekend, I will blog on it tonight.

Setting here today it just hit me, now most of you know me and I have been dealing with a divorce for a long time and last October it was finalized to the point of signing the paperwork. So my life has been a rat race up to this point on each Sept. 5th. But this year, even though I am still dealing with some different details of the divorce this is the first year that we are not fighting on this date. And it hit me that today I would have been married 19 years today. That is a long time.......

No, I'm not thinking by no means it was a mistake, the divorce I'm speaking of. But it is bothering me for some reason today. You know in that 19 years a lot has happen. We loved traveling so we went to the beaches a lot on our different vacations. Mexico was gorgeous but Florida every year was probably the most relaxing ones. Always took what ever child was born and we owned either a 5th wheel or a motorhome, so traveling was wonderful. We usuarly spent a week at Disney and then another week either racing or traveling around the Daytona area.

You know 19 years seems like a life time, but it did go so fast, all three boys are here and each have had unique experiences that I won't forget as a family. Between running the country side on 4-wheelers to the showing pigs that they love to do at open shows. To this girl not being an animal person and with the ex working so much overtime I learned more than I ever wanted to know about pigs. I was the one crying when they had to be sold, I know, "how silly to get attached to a pig". But they needed their baths and their walks everyday, twice a day on the walks. And each had their own unique personality. But I still won't forgive them everytime they got out of their pins they took for my gold fish pond with the waterfall and fountain and it was in the middle of my large flower garden. I guess they knew where to get even with me the best. It had to be rebuilt at least 4 times and I was steaming each and every time.

Then there was the things that we enjoyed to do together as a family. We used to go to the races, matter in fact one year we lived in our motorhome on the weekends traveling the racing series. Chase was only 1 then when we started that. But this series let me bring him in the pits no matter what track we were at. So it was a family thing with my father owning the car and at that time my brother driving it. We did a lot of traveling back then. Chase could play for hours with his matchbox toys and tractors and each had their own unique sound when he played. We put a blanket down in the trailer and he knew to stay in there.

Then there is the selling of the house in a week and moving into a 5th wheel while we helped build our home. The first day it snowed that we moved in and the last day that we were in there is snowed. But it was a fun experience and at that time there was both Chase and Tanner. This house is special because it was built by our hands and both families helped us.

Then came the the start of the marriage falling apart. But I stuck it out because his mother came down with cancer and we moved her into the house we put on our spare property so it was easier for me to take care of her. She had a trek and that needed cleaned each day and she had medicine that she also needed help with because she was not strong enough to hook it up. I lived my life around her for almost a year. I called her morning, noon and night constantly. Because she could go downhill in a matter of hours and not be able to call me. There were the doctor appts with each having it's own problem and the setting and waiting for them to also give her blood. Then there were the many hospital stays that I would take her to and pick her up. I'll never forget the last one when she did pass away. And when her things were being cleaned out of the hosp room and somebody handed me her clothes......you know I was strong around anyone because I had taken care of this wonderful lady and we had talked girl talk and also about serious stuff she new was ahead. She was suffering and I know that she was at peace with it all. But that last day when they handed me her clothes to put in the white bag, I lost it and to this day I will never forget that moment. I was taking her clothes home and not her. Ok, I'm being a wimp at this moment, yes tears are running. But she will hold a special place in my heart and never be forgotten no matter what. We had even spoken of the divorce that probably would happen after she left us. I told her not to worry, right now I was focusing on her and she was the important thing in my life. I never really had been close to her up to this time and we became like sisters not mother-in-law and daughter-in-law.

I know I am rattling on but today is one of those days I guess I just need to talk and let it out. I think I will feel better after I talk about it. I have been so strong and not let myself been seen when I was down and out. I've kept my yahoos fed, clothed and a house over their head and pretty proud of it. Now I won't say it has been easy, I've even have been working two jobs but I want them to stay in the home they are used to. They themselves have had too many changes and I don't want to add to it.

So, yes I can say writing this has helped me this morning......and I'm sorry I have rattled on and on. But you know that I have figured after today, getting over the anniversary that has hit me the hardest I can get up and put myself together and I have become a strong independent person. I have tackled more things in the last two months then I ever thought I could accomplish. I won't say it has been easy by no means but I've decided that I'm closing not just this chapter of my life but this book also and putting it on the shelf. I have pulled a new brighter one down and this will be my new start. I'm ready to tackle the world and you know, there is a new life out there for me. At one time I had thought I had found what I wanted and thought last year that my life was where it needed to be and I had someone making me strong through this last year. And I was happy with whom I was with and what I was doing. But things change and I have learned a lot about me and this last year I guess was the winding up of the new me and my new life that is in my future. This person was there for a reason and he did make me strong and taught me to stand up for myself. So there was a reason why that he was there. But now I am on my own and have decided everybody will want to stay tuned and you will be kept updated. I am ready to see what new adventures are out there for me and I'm also including my 3 wonderful yahoos that are the best thing the world to me.

Stay tuned while we all get to read what I have to say in this bright new book that I have started! And I guarantee it will not be boring by no means! Because I was called a social butterfly again this weekend and I have been called that before so this butterfly is going to smell the roses and enjoy the sun for a brighter future for us all!

Have A Great Weekend

Everybody have a Great Weekend after tonight you probably won't see much of me on here this weekend. We are heading off racing on Saturday and then Sunday and Monday we are heading south for some more racing. So it looks like I will be staying in Fort Wayne this weekend.

I live in the boon docks and love it but I do enjoy Fort Wayne so I am looking forward to staying up there this weekend. Thanks to a group from Ft Wayne that has a race shop with an apartment in the top of it. It will be great accommodations and this will work out well for my coming and going. This apartment is as nice or nicer then my house.

Speaking of I have to tell you a story about a couple weeks ago racing.....yes I know, I am rattling on. But this race shop is owned by the Dager Racing Team. Tony and Bobby are great friends. Well a couple weeks ago Tony went to Mansfield, OH to go racing and had the race won. He took the checkered flag and even drove around a couple laps while the other cars usually get off the track. When he stopped his spotter came over his radio to tell him that they through the yellow after he took the checker. Now when the leader takes the checker it is over.

So Tony buckled back up and put his helmet back on and went to start his car so he could race one more lap and new it would be no problem. He could show them he still could do it. But you would never guess what, his car was out of gas. Of all times for the car to run out of gas. So instead of taking the checker flag and winning the race, he now is placing dead last. So this team has plans to go back and show them that they can win this race in the future.

See pics of Tony from last year. And we wish him good luck this weekend when he runs different tracks then us.

My Wish

My Wish

I hope that days come easy and moments pass slow,
And each road leads you where you want to go,
And if you're faced with a choice, and you have to choose,
I hope you choose the one that means the most to you.
And if one door opens to another door closed,
I hope you keep on walkin' till you find the window,
If it's cold outside, show the world the warmth of your smile,
More then anything, more then anything,

My wish, for you,
Is that this life becomes all that you want it,
To your dreams stay big, and your worries stay small,
You never need to carry more then you can hold,
And while you're out there getting where you're getting to,
I hope you know somebody loves you,
And wants the same things too,
Yeah, this, is my wish.

I hope you never look back, but ya never forget,
All the ones who love you,
And the place you left,
I hope you always forgive, and you never regret,
And you help somebody every chance you get,
Oh, you find God's grace, in every mistake,
And you always give more then you take.
But more then anything, Yeah, and more then anything,

This is my wish
I hope you know somebody loves you
May all your dreams stay big!

Katrina Clean-up

I am going to blog on the Katrina clean-up but tonight it will have to wait.
Not a good night to be spending on the computer, three little guys need extra help and attn tonight.
So I will get my thoughts and pics posted. I am going to have to take the time to put my thoughts out there
like I want others to understand them.

I have lots of pics and lots of thoughts on the clean-up part that I have seen. My father, Dean and Mary all spent from October and the last one came home in June. I went down after Christmas for a week and a half. So I seen some of it first hand. Lived amongst the ones trying to survive and herd stories after stories.

So be patient and I will blog on this, so Mike and John, no I didn't forget about you - I promise!

My Dad Is A Father

A little boy got on the bus, sat next to a man reading a book, andnoticed he had his collar on backwards. The little boy asked why he worehis collar that way. The man, who was a priest, said, " I am a Father."The little boy replied, "My daddy doesn't wear his collar like that."The priest looked up from his book and answered "I am the Father ofmany." The boy said, "My dad has 4 boys, 4 girls and two grandchildren andhe doesn't wear his collar that way." The priest, getting impatient, said, "I am the Father of hundreds" and went back to reading his book. Thelittle boy sat quietly thinking for a while, then leaned over andsaid,"Maybe you should wear your pants backwards instead of your collar

Boys Will Be Boys - And These Could Be Mine!

Ok, here another boys will be boys and I have to tell you that the three on the right might as well be my three. I don't care how close the bathroom is, it's even right inside the back door. I have put flooring down that you don't even need to take your shoes off.

But they prefer the method to the right far much better. Now I hope Chase pulls this up at school along with all his friends. Because Chase the one with his back against me looking at the wall would be you. The other two wouldn't care whom seen. So now that all your friends have noted this I hope you have a wonderful day in school today!!!! Love ya, Mom!

No Racing This Weekend! But Made The Best Of It

Well this weekend was a wash out literally. But I still had fun, I guess you work with what you are handed and make the best of it! Saturday was a no race day, cancelled before I even left the house. At least that gave me time to decide what I wanted to do the rest of the night.

Sunday, I was able to drive to Ft Wayne to meet part of the group. One truckload had left and the rest of us with the car were just getting ready to pull out when we got the call. I guess they received 4" of rain yesterday and am expecting more. So it was cancelled at Winchester for today. But we made the best of this also. After the first truckload came back we all went out for breakfast. No we don't draw attn, no way, everyone had these bright, and I mean neon bright yellow shirts with either an eight or an eighty-eight on them. And remember this is the Sunday crowd now in the restaurant. But we did behave and it all worked out just great. It was an enjoyable breakfast with all making plans for next weekend, in between all the cell phone calls.

I put a pic of Tommy's car above - Al was the one racing Winchester today but, this is a match to the car that we were taking to Winchester just a few things different and a number change. Now if you were one of them, I know they will be telling me after seeing this that there is more than a few things different, there are a lot. But needless to say they look alike. I haven't been able to blog on Tommy much since he travels more and we are usually racing ourselves then. So I thought I would take this opportunity to put his pic up. The series' that he is competing in are the ASA Late Model Series, Championship Racing Assoc. (CRA) and Super Pro. He won two races in ASA in 2004 and three in Super Pro in 2005.

I will update you on next weekend; looks like it could be a full weekend of racing, knock on wood and hold your breath. I thought this weekend would be also, but someone higher up had different plans for me! :0)
